Andrea Noel, a young American journalist living in Mexico City, is assaulted in a public place. Far from keeping quiet, she decides to denounce her attacker on social media. The video goes viral and Andrea receives support but also faces an avalanche of cyber-bullying and death threats. Determined to uncover the source of these threats, Andrea's relentless quest leads her to discover the darkest underbelly of political power and public opinion: bot farms. She will find that they are not just targeting her but are part of a wider strategy to control the public narrative and influence the country's future.
