The Ninth Hour is a film about the rumour of a death. An event that occurred years ago in a town in La Mancha under the headline “Man buried in his own bed”. The film seeks to recreate that event by mobilising the town's residents to participate as actors in the film. However, the goodwill of these people soon contrasts with a certain aura of mystery that surrounds their lives. In a town where apparently nothing ever happens, everyone has something to hide about that strange death.
Under the plot of a suspense film where reality and fiction are constantly intermingled, The Ninth Hour explores the idiosyncrasy of a rural area in the so-called empty Spain.
