Jorge, a pirate in his fifties, returns to his mother, Carmen, after thirty years travelling the world. The woman, eighty years old and deeply Catholic, discovers that her son has brain metastases. Immersed in intense suffering, Jorge tries to alleviate his pain by mentally travelling through his own past. Questioning her faith and her values, Carmen lets her son go forever, but with a peculiar condition. Helping someone die can be the most sublime proof of love.
